Frequently asked questions regarding DSYS processes, our scope of services, feasibility studies, and operational regions.
DESUP is the document in which an authorised DRS operator (DSYS operator) commits to the Turkish Environment Agency (TÜÇA) how it will operate in the field. Field operations cannot commence without approval; an incomplete or inconsistent plan can delay the application process by months.
It varies depending on the number of provinces and your current state of readiness; a typical DESUP preparation process takes approximately 6–8 weeks up to the submission of the application dossier.
It is suitable for companies whose authorisation application is pending at TÜÇA, as well as operators that have received authorisation but have not yet had their DESUP approved. It scales from single-province operators to multi-province structures.
The national integration period (UES) starts on 1 July 2026 and runs until June 2028. During this period, province-by-province DESUP approval is a prerequisite for the revenue model.
DSYS (deposit return system operations) is the counterpart of DRS in international terminology. DİM (reverse vending machine) is the automated unit where consumers return packaging; its international equivalent is RVM. DBYS refers to the Deposit Information Management System. On this site, these terms are used as they appear in the applicable regulations. Detailed guide: Türkiye's deposit return system explained.
The legal basis for deposit implementation is Environmental Law No. 2872 and the Packaging Waste Control Regulation (Official Gazette No. 31523). Operator authorisation and field implementation processes are managed by TÜÇA.
DESUP approval is not the end, but the beginning. Operating the approved plan in the field — opening collection points, establishing collection cadence, ensuring consistency in TÜÇA reporting — requires a distinct management discipline. SPY establishes this discipline externally and measurably.
It covers the end-to-end setup and operation of a counting and verification centre (SDM), including site selection, capacity design, vendor evaluation, and operational modelling.
The process begins with needs analysis and field inspection, followed by technical design and financial modelling, procurement and installation, commissioning, and finally operational support. Deliverables for each phase are submitted in writing.
Both are possible. You can receive feasibility and regulatory consultancy alone, or we can provide turnkey solutions encompassing hardware procurement and facility installation. Scope is defined jointly during the needs analysis.
Our hardware integration and supply chain management service exists specifically for this purpose. Your existing equipment inventory, metering systems, and reporting infrastructure are audited to define the integration scope.
We operate across five main areas: deposit management systems, recycling facilities, smart waste collection, waste logistics systems, and turnkey environmental infrastructure. In addition, we offer environmental consultancy, software/digital platforms, and R&D & CAPEX financing services.
Field data is connected to a centralised dashboard, enabling tracking of collection volume, verification rates, and operational KPIs. Under regulatory requirements, reports submitted to TÜÇA must be fully consistent with this data.
No. The initial feasibility consultation and preliminary analysis are completely free of charge. A detailed report based on your project size and scope can be evaluated separately.
We will contact you within 24 hours of form submission. Depending on your selected challenge area and scale, our relevant specialist will get in touch directly. For urgent matters, you may call our phone line.
Projections are modelled based on site-specific collection volumes, equipment selection, logistics routes, and labour breakdowns. Ratios on this website are representative values based on past project experience; figures applicable to your project can only be determined through a project-specific feasibility study.
Yes. We prepare EU and TÜBİTAK funding strategies, application documentation for Horizon Europe, LIFE, and IPA, as well as technical feasibility and reporting frameworks for development bank financing.
After selecting "International Fund/Grant Project Development" or "EPR Compliance" under the issue diagnosis field and summarising your current situation, our business development team will schedule a meeting with you to discuss joint project opportunities, supply chain collaborations, or consortium building.
Yes. Headquartered in Istanbul, we carry out field analysis and project management across all of Türkiye. We also have international project experience in 5+ countries.
Beyond Türkiye, we have operational experience in Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria. Projects delivered with international DRS operators and funding institutions can be found on our References page.
